Summer is quickly coming to a close and we would like to bring you up to speed on some of the goings on at the Saint Paul Parks Conservancy.
The Rice Park Revitalization project is winding down and we are only $20,722 away from our fundraising goal! SPPC is so grateful to our partners, the Saint Paul Garden Club and the Rice Park Association, for a truly successful partnership. We are eagerly waiting for an update from the city about the plans for ground breaking on Rice Park, expected to begin sometime in the spring of 2018.
The Conservancy once again sponsored the Leo Lewis Sports camps in Saint Paul this summer with the generous support from the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA). There were eight camps for general athletic training. The NFLPA grant helped provide free summer camp access to around 70 Saint Paul youth, grades middle school to high school. We are grateful for our partnership with the Leo Lewis Foundation and the NFLPA.
The Conservancy has also been working hard on reviewing potential park sites for our next funding project. We have worked with the city to identify several worthy candidates are in the final stages of review. We anticipate making an announcement in the coming weeks about our next project. Thanks to our project selection committee chaired by board member Nancy Chang. Stay tuned for further news on our next project.
Finally, we will be launching our new logo in the coming weeks. We are excited by the new look and look forward to sharing it with you soon. Thanks to board member Ellison Yahner for leading the charge on the logo redesign.
As always, thank you for your continued support. If you have any questions about the Conservancy, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly, or contact our staff at 651.300.6598 or email@example.com
